Jabra Engage 45 SE Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use conference call mode for training purposes?
Yes, you can use conference call mode for training purposes. You can set this up using Headset conferencing and Headset conferencing mode in Jabra Direct. You can also manually set up conference call mode on your Jabra Engage 45 SE headset.
How can I reduce the echo in my headset?
Make sure you have configured your headset to get the best possible audio with your desk phone, and positioned your microphone close to your mouth. The volume on your desk phone should be set halfway, and it should approximately match the volume level of the microphone on your Jabra headset.
If you are still hearing an echo, the microphone volume on the headset may be set too high. Refer to the Quick Start Guide or User Manual for your Jabra device for specific instructions on how to adjust these settings. Try to decrease the microphone volume, one step at a time, while you talk. As the volume of the microphone decreases, the echo will also decrease or be eliminated.
If you are hearing your own voice in your headset at the same time as you are speaking, this is not a delayed echo – it is a feature called sidetone. Depending on the equipment being used, you may be able to adjust the sidetone level on your phone, headset, or computer.
Can I stream music from my computer using my Jabra Engage 45 SE?
No. The USB-C connection on the Engage 45 SE base is only for configuring settings and firmware updates.
To stream music using your Engage 45 SE headset, we recommend purchasing an Engage 65 SE or 75 SE base to maintain a dual connection with a desk phone and computer.
How does the noise cancelling microphone work on my Jabra Engage 45 SE?
A noise cancelling microphone filters out unwanted background noise. It does so by differentiating between sounds that come from nearby sources such as the mouth, and sounds that come from further away, which are then significantly reduced or eliminated.
Therefore, it is important that you position the noise cancelling microphone close to your mouth – no further away than 1 to 2 finger widths (½-1 inch/12-24 mm), if the design of the microphone boom arm allows for this position.
