Jabra Stealth UC Bluetooth Headset Q & A
What is Bluetooth wireless technology?
Bluetooth wireless technology is a radio technology developed to deliver short-range wireless mobility. This technology eliminates wires between devices, such as mobile phones and headsets, and enables communication between devices that are in close proximity to one another. Bluetooth facilitates fast, secure transmissions of both voice and data. More information is available at www.bluetooth.com or www.bluetooth.org
Best practices for storing rechargeable batteries
The battery in your Jabra device is rechargeable, not replaceable. Therefore, to preserve and store rechargeable batteries, use the following guidelines. These guidelines apply to the use of batteries in general, and not specifically to Jabra devices.
-
- Avoid placing batteries in direct sunlight
- Avoid placing batteries in extreme cold
- Do not store batteries for extended periods without recharging them, at least once a month
- If you handle or store rechargeable batteries incorrectly, their lifetime may be reduced
Can I connect my Jabra Enterprise Bluetooth device directly with a computer or softphone?
Your Jabra Stealth UC Bluetooth Headset Bluetooth device is engineered to connect with a computer using the included Jabra Bluetooth adapter. Some users may have success pairing a Jabra Enterprise Bluetooth device directly with a computer (not using the Jabra Bluetooth adapter).
However, the full functionality of the Jabra device may not be available. For example, you may be able to send and receive audio, but the buttons on the device may not work for call controls with a softphone client such as Microsoft Teams, as they would when using the Jabra Bluetooth adapter. Similarly, if you do pair directly with a computer, note that it must support the following:
-
- The Hands Free (HFP) or Headset (HSP) Bluetooth profile.
- The Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) Bluetooth profile.
In addition, ensure that all devices, including your Jabra Enterprise Bluetooth device, are up to date with the latest firmware/software. When pairing your Jabra Enterprise Bluetooth device, follow the same steps that you would for pairing with a mobile device. To troubleshoot challenges when connected directly to a computer or softphone client, try the following steps:
- Check that the Bluetooth connection is active on the computer.
- Remove the previous pairing and re-pair.
- Reset your Jabra device
- Ensure that you have the latest version of the softphone client installed.
- Ensure that your Jabra device is selected as the audio device on your computer and the softphone client.

Can I use my headset while it is charging?
For safety reasons, we always recommend that you not use your headset while it is charging. Therefore, allow it to charge fully, disconnect it from the charger, and then your headset is ready for use.
Can I use my new Jabra Bluetooth device with other devices that have older Bluetooth versions?
A Jabra Bluetooth device is fully backward compatible with other Bluetooth devices that have Bluetooth version 2.0 or later, with Headset Profile (HSP) version 1.2 or later and Hands Free Profile (HFP) version 1.5 or later
-
- Note:
- Bluetooth version 2.0 was released in 2004.
- HSP version 1.2 was released in 2008.
- HFP version 1.5 was released in 2005.
- Note:
Can I use the supplied USB cable as an audio cable?
No. The USB cable does not transfer audio. In other words, the USB cable may only be used for charging or updating the firmware on your Jabra device.
Do I have audio and call control on my Jabra device when I use it with computer softphones on the Linus operating system?
In general, Linux supports Jabra USB audio devices at the audio level only, and further integration is dependent on the softphone and its client software. This means that basic audio should be enabled, and the system solution provider is responsible for additional functionality such as call control for the connected audio device.
Selected Linux supported softphones do support call control with Jabra USB audio devices. Refer to the specifications of the Linux operating system for details about USB audio and call control support.
